International Field Day on Conservation Agriculture in Brihuega (Guadalajara)

Last October 2nd, the Spanish Association for Conservation Agriculture/Living Soils organized an International Field Day on Conservation Agriculture in Brihuega (Guadalajara).

According to data provided by the Spanish Ministry for Agriculture, Food and Environment, the Direct Seeding surface has increased 108% in the last 5 years, placing Spain (with more than 570,000 hectares) as the leading European country in this type of sustainable farming practices.

In this context, the celebration of the International Field Day on Conservation Agriculture is the best way to tranfer the knowledge generated in the studies addressing the agronomic and environmental benefits of these techniques, as well as showing technological innovations in equipment and machinery and inputs made by the private sector with regard to these pratices, to the agricultural agents.

In this event, top experts have presented, in a practical way, key issues of Conservation Agriculture, such as improvement of energy efficiency, cost savings, reduction of greenhouse gases emissions, proper use of equipment and agronomic inputs and sustainable management in agro-ecosystems.
